Seeing the tram cruise along is a thing of beauty (if I do say so myself)

Seriously, I have no idea how it even got up there...
The Tram simulator was my first major project in my first year at AIE, a team of nine (including myself) worked to recreate the driving conditions for the old tram line in Sydney that ran down George street in the 1940s. I had the honour of modelling, texturing, rigging and animating the Tram controlled by the player, as well as modelling and texturing the Iconic Queen Victoria Building. Additionally, I worked on some of the background buildings and set dressing, ensuring all view angles were covered and allowed efficient culling.

So I am not a programmer, so when i prototyped the controls you could drive the tram as you might a car... including the ability to do burnouts in the middle of the road, also if you hit the kerb too fast you would catch some air and potentially end up somewhere you shouldn't. What i didn't count on was you could control the other trams simultaneously... this fella somehow managed to get on the roof when I was actually trying to drive sensibly (for once). Thankfully our programmer joined the team shortly after, took one look, shook his head and fixed the whole debacle in short order.

Moral of the story: Trams are glorious flying machines!
